About Granny's Pool

Granny's Pool is a historic shallow tidal swimming basin at Blacksmiths, Lake Macquarie, formed when a gap in the breakwall allowed seawater to create a lagoon in sand. Named for generations of parents and grandparents teaching children to swim, it's ideal for young families. Water levels vary with tides; high tide offers more depth. Facilities include car park, bike path, ramp, benches, showers, BBQs and toilets.
