About Genoa Creek Falls

Genoa Creek Falls features a series of cascades totalling approximately 10 metres across multiple small waterfalls of 1-2 metres each, flowing along the Genoa Creek near the town of Genoa in eastern Victoria. Located within Croajingolong National Park approximately 4 kilometres west of Genoa, the falls consist of a moderately-sloping basalt shelf interrupted by these cascading sections. The area is geologically significant, featuring the Genoa River's magnificent red sandstone gorge and ancient tetrapod footprints in Upper Devonian sediments—believed to be among the oldest fossil records of land-dwelling vertebrates. The moderate hike to the falls covers approximately 0.5 miles with elevation gain of 114 feet, and is best visited between November and April.
