Frenchman Peak stands at 262 metres in Cape Le Grand National Park 45 minutes from Esperance, named by surveyor Alexander Forrest who felt it resembled a man wearing a French cap. The walk to the summit up the east slope offers panoramic views of the park, southern coastline, and islands in the Recherche Archipelago via gravel paths, wooden boardwalks, and exposed granite. Though only three kilometres, it's a hard climb taking approximately two hours.
