About Donaghys Lookout

Donaghys Hill Lookout is a short walk in Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park on Tasmania's Lyell Highway between Derwent Bridge and Queenstown. The 2.2 km return walk (Grade 2, about 40-45 minutes) climbs gently through temperate rainforest to emerge on a heathland ridge. From the rocky summit, views extend across the junction of the Collingwood and Franklin rivers and toward Frenchmans Cap. Clear weather is essential for good visibility.
