This is an OK caravan park. Location is good, particularly for the staircase to the moon with a specialised viewing platform. Got some great photos. However, the roads are only car and caravan width which makes it ridiculously difficult to get into your site. We had to get at least three people to move vehicles so we could get our van into and out of our site. Everyone around us had the same problem. It was also disappointing when we noted that other large vans were situated in sites on the eastern side of the park, but in the main only stayed one night and there were always vacant sites in this area. So I do not understand why we could not have had one of these sites for the 4 nights of our stay. Amenities were clean and serviceable but somewhat tired. Dump point was new and great.

Such a shame. Would love to rate this highly as facilities and site itself were great, but the owner/managers were downright aggressive. Absolutely unprovoked, don’t know if they’d just come off a difficult conversation or something, but they were incredibly rude and spoiled the end of our trip.

Absolute rip of, of a caravan park. After looking at the photos online, I saw this park had a pool and games room with a pool table, the price wasn't terrible at $50 a night for a powered campsite, however when we arrived we found out the pool was closed and the games room had essentially been turned into a storage room, with the pool table pushed to the wall, being used to store things on top. Not only was the pool closed, it was undergoing lots of work, which meant sitting on our campsite was what I could describe as sitting in the middle of a building site, the amount of noise and construction which was taking place, made this site super uncomfortable and feeling like a massive waste of money. As well as this, someone was using a chainsaw on the other side of the park, so the noise was coming from all directions. The sites are slightly hard to park on as the narrow roads make it impossible to reverse park. And it seems this park hosts residents who live on the park permanently and leave for work at 4.30 in the morning. I was woken to two people getting into their car slamming their car doors to wake everyone up, lights brightend our tent and the engine running for at least 5 minutes before they decided to leave. Once that was over, if you are expecting to get some sort of sleep in the morning, you would be wrong. At 7.30 in the morning demolition of the pool area seemed to take place, huge pieces of rubble falling and men throwing bricks into a skip, loud talking and machinery moving round, just meters from our site, made me absolutely fuming. I have paid 50 dollars to essentially be woken up early in the mornings and to listen to construction all day. I cannot put to words how angry this made me. As I couldn't cool off in the pool or chill in the games room, I found the only place with air-conditioning and good facilities was the toilet block! I will be contacting head office after this appalling stay at Port Hedland Discovery park. I would've complained to someone in reception however decided not to as I had already overheard the Rude woman the previous day speaking to another person staying. Shorter lady probably in her 50s, talking back to customers with the most disgusting attitude. The other two ladies on the front desk who infact checked us in were friendly and super kind and we appreciated their level of customer service, and that the other older lady could learn from the younger ladies Will absolutely not stay here again, I have a 4 hour drive ahead of me and Im not rested or in any way prepared for it, no thanks to this terrible holiday park. You would of thought there would be discount to the price considering all the work happening to the park Do not stay here!!!

Very rude receptionist. Lady in her 50s, glasses and short blondeish hair. I was washing my laundry but came back to dirty clothes because the machine stopped working so I went to the reception just to let them know that it was out of order. She somehow got offended by that and said I must have used the wrong machine that wasn’t working either but I explained to her that there was no sign on the one I used saying β€œout of order”. She weirdly laughed in my face and rolled her eyes. It was so uncomfortable that I startet shaking and crying and tried to leave the reception when she startet yelling at me saying she’s not done talking ect. She clearly didn’t care and enjoyed seeing me struggling. I explained to her that the reason I am reacting so emotionally is because I’m on the road because of cyclone Narelle not able to return home and going through a difficult time and that it doesn’t matter with the washing but I just want to get out of this uncomfortable situation. She almost jumped over the desk as I was trying to walk out the door while yelling at me. Out of this world Karen. Also super cramped caravan park and hard to park and get around in the park. Poor facilities - shitty outdoor kitchen and toilets very cramped as well and bad maintained and not properly cleaned! The only good thing was the aircon in the bathrooms. Also pretty much all the washing machines were out of order. Unreal to me you can charge $50 + per person per night when facilities are so bad. The money is clearly not used to maintain the caravan park. Cannot recommend Discovery Parks Port Headland!!

Cheapest park I could find in the area with a pool! I was very excited to come here for the pool, given the very hot days we'd been having. It's only upon my arrival that I find out the pool is closed for maintenance... I figured there must be a room to chill and cool off. I see there's a game room on the map, but I can't seem to find it. I asked reception, and turns out that's closed as well. It would have been nice to know that there is absolutely no way to cool off before booking. The only place with AC is the ablutions, but it makes the heat even more unbearable when going back outside. Even the camp kitchen is outside, and the hot plates don't even work properly. The only good thing there are the ladies at the front desk. Other than that I am very disappointed to have booked this place. Edit: Found my solar panel in the water as someone turned on the sprinklers right next to it. Ughhh.
