About Curtis Falls

Curtis Falls in Tamborine National Park descends 10-12 metres over basalt rocks within the Joalah section, fed continuously by Cedar Creek. The area harbors rare platypus and glow-worms, and features accessible walking tracks, though access to the pool is restricted to protect these sensitive species. The 1.1km easy walk takes around 45 minutes and rewards visitors with lush rainforest scenery and volcanic geology from an ancient eruption.

You will find plenty of parking just start of track. Track is easy and within 15-20min walk you will be at Curtis Falls. Track from rainforest is beautiful, scenic but wet. So wear good grip shoe's. You can go with kids, not much space down and if many people visiting. It can get crowded easily.

Curtis Falls is such a lovely little escape 🌿 Easy to access, family-friendly walking track, and surrounded by cute rainforest vibes the whole way through. Perfect spot for a quick nature reset without having to do a hard hike. Definitely worth a visit if you’re around the area!

Beautiful and tranquil location. There are ancient rainforest trees, Strangler figs, palm trees, birdlife, goannas, and many other wildlife. NOTE There is mud, as you get to the Waterfall. The steps are quite deep, and uneven. Older ones may struggle up/down stairs. The walk is "easy" but there are steps. There is a small outlook area, with seating before the steps to the waterfall where older individuals can have a rest. Or, you can sit and observe the birds, if other visitors are not too loud.

Great walk with well kept tracks and surroundings. Was a comfortable and adventurous walk with 3 kids under 10 with around 20 minutes there and back from carpark. Took our swimmers but didn’t realise it was strictly a walk lol

Curtis Falls Walking Track is a beautiful and peaceful nature escape that perfectly showcases the charm of Mount Tamborine. The walk itself is short, easy, and well-maintained, making it suitable for families, seniors, and anyone looking for a relaxed stroll through rainforest scenery. The track winds through tall trees, lush greenery, and ferns, creating a cool and refreshing atmosphere, especially on a warm day. The highlight of the walk is, of course, Curtis Falls. The waterfall may not be huge, but it is incredibly picturesque and calming. The sound of flowing water, combined with the surrounding rainforest, makes it a wonderful place to pause, take photos, or simply enjoy the moment. The viewing area is safe and clearly marked, allowing visitors to appreciate the falls without disturbing the natural environment. There are informative signs along the track that add educational value, explaining the local flora and fauna. Parking is available nearby, and the walk doesn’t take long, making it ideal to combine with other Mount Tamborine attractions. Overall, Curtis Falls Walking Track is a must-visit for nature lovers and anyone wanting a peaceful, scenic experience in the Gold Coast hinterland.
