Crater Lakes National Park comprises two crater lakes—Lake Barrine and Lake Eacham—surrounded by cool rainforest formed over 10,000 years ago. Lake Eacham offers swimming in crystal-clear blue waters with walking tracks through the rainforest, including a 3km circuit around the lake. The park is located just over an hour's drive from Cairns.

Absolutely stunning blue lake with parking and picnic areas. Fish can be seen in the clear waters and birds dipping in the water - saw a kingfisher and cormorants. However this comes at a cost as it can get very busy. Please leave no traces of rubbish.

Beautiful pitstop on the way to Atherton tablelands. Good coffee/ cafe. Great view over the lake while enjoying a delicious coffee.

It was a cute stop to have a picnic and go to the bathroom. I didn't eat at the restaurant, so can't comment on that. There are different levels of parking, so go all the way down first as it might be better. Also, it is worth the walk to the Twin trees. They were spectacular!!! There is a full walk around the lake that was pretty but not sure worth the time unless you have time to spare. Make sure you bring Bug repellent!!
