Because its not far from the river headwaters, the flows are better after a few days of rain in winter and spring when there is more runnoff from surrounding hills, but often dries up in summer. One of the taller waterfalls in the area.

Visited after some rain (1 July) and was gorgeous. Easy walk to the viewing platforms with dirt path access (incl wheelchair) which was fairly well packed.

The warning signs said that a dangerous landslide was immanent, I waited 3 hours in anticipation a spectacular collapse of the waterfall into the river below but it never happened. There is a convenient picnic table with an open fire pit for winter warming. Toilet facilities are clean and maintained.

We drove up from Daylesford where we had lunch when we were staying in Ballarat. Worth the drive if you like waterfalls. You canβt walk down to the waterfall anymore but you can walk down the path and view the falls from above.

Trentham Falls is truly stunning, with an impressive drop that makes for a beautiful sight. The sound of the water crashing down is wonderfully soothing. Itβs also very accessible, with just a short walk from the car park to the viewing area.
