Cape Moreton Conservation Park crowns the rocky north-eastern tip of Moreton Island, a 37km-long sand island on the eastern edge of Moreton Bay. Queensland's first lighthouse was built here in 1857 and remains an iconic landmark. The site is renowned as one of Australia's best locations for whale watching during the annual migration from June to November. A 1.5km circuit track takes about one hour to walk, offering coastal views and historical insights into this heritage place. The island is jointly managed with the Quandamooka People, its traditional owners.
