The park includes an attraction where kangaroos and wallabies can be seen by the beach. I arrived a bit late for the sunrise setting; I was there at 9:20 a.m. On the beach itself, no kangaroos were visible, but between the caravans, we saw kangaroos interacting with people. You can get very close to themβalmost within touching distance. Theyβre not afraid of people and seem to be used to human presence around them. The site features an elevated walking trail above the waterline, nicely marked, which eventually connects to another walkway with three observation decks overlooking the area. The observation trail is circular. There are restrooms on site, as well as free parking.

We stayed at Smalley's Beach for one night but it was so lovely you could easily stay a while. Only toilets available, no showers. Very spacious campsites and ours had a picnic table and path down to the beach. Beautiful view through the trees and we sat down on the sand to eat dinner and watch the tide rise. A really relaxing evening and we even spotted an echidna!

Great walk, quite steep but good once you get to the top. If you keep going and don't stop it is about a 45kin walk to Turtle Lookout and Back. Beautiful on a clear day, heaps of Turtles and sea life. People at the shop are great tooπ
