**Practical tip #1:** When you arrive, simply drive in, choose your campsite first, park your vehicle, and then walk to reception to check in. It makes arrival quick and easy after a long day on the road. **Practical tip #2:** If you prefer an unpowered site, head to the open grassed area on the eastern side of the park. The unpowered sites are not individually marked, giving you the flexibility to choose your own spot. **Practical tip #3:** This is an excellent overnight stop between Queensland and the Northern Territory, offering both powered drive-through sites and unpowered camping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camooweal Post Office Hotel Motel & Caravan Park. From the moment we arrived, we received a warm and friendly welcome, making check-in quick and easy. The park offers spacious drive-through powered sites, while the unpowered camping area provides plenty of room to choose your own spot. The entire park felt relaxed, tidy and well organised. One of the highlights is the camp kitchen. It is large, modern and exceptionally clean, with refrigerators, a freezer, microwaves, kettles, two toasters and two gas barbecue hotplates. The only thing we missed were individual cooktops for boiling pasta, rice or potatoes in a saucepan. The amenities were clean and well maintained, and the park also provides a laundry, dump point and secure gated access overnight. We also noticed that dogs are welcome, making it a good stop for travellers with pets. The adjoining hotel is well worth a visit. It has both a welcoming pub and bistro, together with a long veranda overlooking the main road—a particularly pleasant place to sit and enjoy the evening as the sun sets. Overall, this is one of the better overnight stops along this route. Friendly staff, excellent facilities and a relaxed atmosphere make it an easy place to recommend. We would happily stay here again.

It looks like an old army or church camp. And updated. My friends are cyclists, they are in rooms, I'm in my campervan on powered site. Very comfortable. We ate most of their menu 😋 all delicious and everything to suit everyone 😋

Very nice country caravan park, very clean and well looked after. Food and service was great, bar prices were a bit much but you can't have everything.

Good overnight stop in caravan park. Amenities clean and good. Nice pool. Friendly pub with great dog friendly verandah. Nice cool spot for a couple of drinks.
