Very tight caravan sites, amenities need attention. Only one key supplied for shower and toilets, so had to take it in turnes. Quite a few undesirables around, not a nice side of town, sirens going all day and night. Strong smell of fresh marijuana around camp.

I would highly recommend AVOIDING this place at all cost. Our cabin was old and sort of clean. $99.00 for 1 night. 1) NO HOT WATER 2) 1 LIGHT OUT OF 5 WORKED 3) NO POWER TO MICROWAVE, KETTLE OR STOVE. 4) AIRCON DID NOT WORK 5) NO BLANKETS A bloody disgrace...

We had a powered site. On first impression the park looks run down and some showers and toilets out of order. Seems to be frequented more by backpacker vans and cabin users. In saying all of that we had no issues during our stay. We had a quiet site but could hear road noise. At about half the price of other parks. Found staff friendly.

Not gonna lie I was worried reading some of the bad reviews, but we arrived at around 12am to check in, no one was there but had to ring the number and was helped within a couple mins :) The overnight receptionist guy was a g, made us feel welcome! They gave us a free upgrade to a better room w an ensuite. Room was great, we were worried about cockroaches because of other reviews but there were only like 2 on the walls and the bed was clean but had a couple loose hairs / sliiight stains which is fine for $70 a night. Did hear a couple rounds of sirens but had 2 rows of locked doors so felt pretty safe , was nice to fall asleep to the rain

I booked Cairns Sunland Leisure Park through Wotif.com as it had great reviews and we didn't know any better. It was rated as very good, clean and spacious. Well today we arrived for a few nights as we get ourselves sorted. What a mistake. The place is 30 years out of date. The room has not been modernised for a long time. The bed has not even been changed since the previous person. It has stains and hair from previous occupants. The smoke alarm for the place is clearly missing from the ceiling, the bathroom door doesn't close properly, is partially off its runner, and it swollen either through damage of impact or water. The bathroom door frame fitting is laying on its side next to the toilet. It's made of asbestos, not a major problem in its own right, but clearly this has been damaged and therefore exposed in the ceiling in a few places and on the walls in the bathroom. I am very disappointed, and kinda annoyed at myself for not investigating further. Needless to say, we are now looking for somewhere else to stay tonight that at least has sheets that haven't already been slept on.
