π Megalong Valley, NSW
Cahills Lookout in Katoomba provides front-row views of the Megalong Valley and distinctive Boars Head Rock formation from the western edge of the Blue Mountains. The short 500-metre walk from the carpark leads to a pergola with sandstone piers where visitors enjoy sweeping panoramas, particularly spectacular at sunset when late afternoon light sets the Narrow Neck Peninsula aglow. First opened in 1959 by NSW Premier J.J. Cahill, the lookout remains one of Katoomba's most rewarding yet underrated vantage points.
