Bushrangers Bay is well worth the walk. The track is relatively easy and the reward at the end is a beautiful stretch of coastline that feels much more secluded than many of the areaβs other beaches. The scenery is incredible, with rugged cliffs, rock pools and crystal-clear water creating a truly unique landscape. Itβs a great place for a walk and one of those locations that feels untouched compared to busier tourist spots. The walk will take around an hour back and forth from the parking to the beach and rock pools.

excellent walk to the beach. unfortunately the tide was too high to see the rock pools but it was still super beautiful and worth it. we saw wallabies and kangaroos on the way there!

My family and I were here today (4 APRIL 2026) for a trail walk. We are from Melbourne and we are in Mornington Peninsula for the Easter weekend. This 2.6 kilometre trail walk from the carpark to Bushrangers Bay could be physically challenging for those who are not fit. Whilst the initial parts from the carpark are rather flat and "soft" on the feet, farther along, it gets quite uneven and somewhat hilly with steps that are height- and breadth-wise not uniform. However, when you get to "the other end" or the Bay, you would feel the effort was worthwhile. And there's interesting wildlife to spot along the way. For example today, my family and I came across a big Echidna on the walking trail - see photos herein.

Amazing views! Only a 40-50 min walk from the car park you'll find some of the prettiest Rock Pools and cliff faces, where you can watch the waves break in majestic glory while going for a little dip. It's not a very challenging walk and the destination is certainly worth it, just make sure to come during low tide, so you'll get to enjoy the Rock Pools in all their glory!

Always love this place! The parking can be hard but that's a testament to how great the walk is. There's multiple directions and distances to take, so it's suitable for most fitness levels but the ground is uneven and there's quite a few stairs so you do need good mobility. Make sure you take the time to check out the rock pools on the beach while you're here but be safe and don't climb the large rocks as people have fallen before.
