Historic 129-year-old pub located between Gin Gin and Bundaberg, positioned on 4 acres above the Kolan River. The venue operates a substantial beer garden, serves food, and hosts live music on weekends with limited powered camping sites and hot showers available adjacent to the property. Situated 35 minutes from Bundaberg or 20 minutes from Gin Gin for coastal and town access.

Waited over 30mins in a que of 25 deep at the counter waiting to order their meals..Short staffed & unable to cope with the demand, it seemed tense & chaotic. The lady taking orders & serving people picking up orders was struggling with no help from other staff. We were seated next to a table where we observed a police officer, ask a senior lady to leave the hotel for asking the staff what happened to her order, placed with the other meals ordered. There was no abuse no raised voices or aggression by the customer, the manager became very aggressive & agitated at being questioned & challenged, so they called the police to remove a group of senior retired ladies, much like the golden girls. The brave senior constable asked the senior ladies to leave as the manager didn't like their attitude. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, a bit overkill & heavy handed for a few old ladies questioning about an ETA for the lost meal. What an absolute debacle, & complete waste of valuable police resources, all I can think is that the manager has anger management issues & is in the wrong business, its called "Hospitality"maybe put more staff on to cope with the demand. Other than that it's a pretty spot & a nice drive in the country to get there. I have read your reply below, which is a work of fiction, creative & untrue. We were a table of 5 sitting next to these ladies, had also been in the que at the same time ordering our lunch & witnessed the whole thing. Nice try though, I think maybe the manager wasn't able to cope with the stress & demands of the day, had a short fuse & took it out on the seniors, a sad indictment on the Managers lack of conflict resolution skills.

You've just got to do it. Service was great. 5 buck schooners to boot. Camped out the back. Plenty of room. Historic old pub water close by.. π»π

This is a great country pub and hidden gem. It exceeded our place expectations in every way. Especially good on a Sunday when they have live music. Just be aware that it's so popular the kitchen can be super busy at times, leading to some delays but...the food quality makes up for any delays.

I stayed 3 nights at the back of the pub - just $10 pp/n on great level area with plenty of space. Drinks at the pub were cold, good price (I couldnβt believe they were cheaper at the Bucca than Hervey Bay or Maryborough) Food was very good and plenty if it, and the lunchtime entertainment on Saturday and Sunday was seriously great. I was contacted this week by Amanda who advised me they had found a $50 on the floor and went through their CCTV and identified me and had rung to tell me. I was seriously impressed. I asked them to donate the $50 to the Gin Gin Menβs Shed who they support. Great pub, great atmosphere. I will definitely be back and highly recommend!!!
