About Bribie Island National Park

Bribie Island National Park offers diverse coastal camping experiences across five areas: Poverty Creek, Gallagher's Point, Mission Point, Lime Pocket, and Ocean Beach, with both vehicle-accessible and boat-accessible sites. The park features scenic coastal landscapes, excellent birdwatching, spring wildflowers and fishing in Pumicestone Passage. A 4WD vehicle and permit are required; camping fees range around AUD .85–7.40 per night. Book at least three months ahead, or up to 12 months for Queensland school holidays. Bring drinking water and note that generators and domestic animals are not permitted.

Lovely spot. We camped in swags on the beach at Mission Point. Amazing! There is a long drop a short walk away from the sites. Bring your own firewood as collecting from the bush could land you a fine. Whether they were sand flies, midges, mosquitoes or horse flies they were ridiculously fierce! Nearly carried away the youngest lad with us. Bring heavy duty bug spray with all of the Deet, you’ve been warned!

All I can say is wow. Went camping for two days at the ocean beach camping site. Very well set out camping spots and cheap as well. Right on the beach. And clean amenities close by. And most spots have a fire ring to make your own campfire. With different sized spots to cater for larger groups or just your self if you want. You will need a 4wd to access some places. And a permit is required to drive on the beach. Absolutely somewhere you have to go. If you drive on the beach make sure you check out the ww2 gun points. And also the natural lagoons scattered along the beach created from the incoming high tide. Just amazing.

Beautiful place to visit. Clean white beaches and quiet, relaxing camping spots accessible by 4WD. Great for people who want to get away from it all but don't want to travel too far from Brisbane.

Bribie Island was the best day out. The 4 wheel driving was so much fun. The island offer so many different swimming locations. Is great for a family weekend away as it has camping grounds and many activities to keeps the kids busy. If you are going for the first time be sure to grab a map and do your research you don't want to be stranded.
