The lookout overlooks Mount Sugarloaf and the towns of Cessnock, Kurri Kurri and Maitland in the distance. Picnic tables and waste bins are provided; dogs are welcome. Ample parking sits in a grassed area nearby, though toilet facilities are not available on-site. The road to the lookout has some potholes in the final section.
