Great central location to Townsville city and beautiful Rowes beach. Coffee truck, pizza truck ect regularly available across the road at the beach. The park is well maintained and feels secure. Reception staff are genuinely helpful. No complaints here.

My partner, and two additional family members recently stayed in a cabin here. It was wonderful. The staff at the front desk were particular kind and helpful to us on our arrival. The facilities were clean and easily accessible and the park was easy to navigate. We had a great stay here. Thank you!

Beautiful location perfect walking distance to the strand and city. Amenities are on the older side but kept well and appeared to be cleaned every day. Reception and staff around the park were all lovely and super accommodating. I would recommend some renovations in cabins and amenities but as a whole a beautiful park and will return.

Disgraceful. Unhygienic. Dismissive staff. Do NOT waste your money here. This was genuinely one of the worst accommodation experiences we have ever had β€” and we are travelling Australia full-time in a campervan, so we are not high-maintenance guests. When we arrived at Big 4 Tasman Holiday Park in Townsville, the first pitch we were allocated was nothing more than a waterlogged, muddy patch of grass. Completely unsuitable for a campervan. After raising this, we were moved β€” only to be placed on another poor-quality pitch that was barely any better. It took THREE moves before we were finally placed on an astro-turf site that didn’t even resemble a proper pitch. After heavy rain the following morning, we decided to upgrade to a cabin for two nights as a bit of comfort. We paid over $300 AUD (and were told this was β€œdiscounted”). What we walked into was unacceptable. The cabin had ants everywhere. Not the odd insect β€” an infestation. They were across surfaces and got into our sealed food. When we reported this to reception first thing in the morning, the response was unbelievably dismissive: β€œIt’s North Queensland, that’s how it is.” We were told they were aware there were ants and that it was essentially our fault for leaving sealed food out. Sealed food. That level of response says everything about the standards here. To make matters worse, we woke up covered in bites after a night of feeling like our skin was crawling. Whether it was bed bugs or something else, the cleanliness and condition of the bedding did not feel hygienic. We didn’t feel comfortable using the shower or even the towels provided. We got no sleep. We immediately requested a refund for the second night (we only stayed one) and were met with complete indifference. The general amenities around the park were also poorly maintained and unclean. This place charges premium prices but delivers substandard, unhygienic accommodation and shockingly poor customer service. The attitude from staff was by far the most concerning part β€” problems are normal in hospitality, but dismissing guests and normalising infestations is not. If you value your comfort, hygiene, or basic customer service β€” stay elsewhere. Read the negative reviews. They are accurate.

Feedback About Our Recent Stay at Tasman Holiday Park Townsville We recently stayed on a Small Powered Campervan Site with our small dogs and overall had a very pleasant experience. The site itself was great and well-suited to our needs. However, the toilet and shower block could benefit from some improvements. A new epoxy floor coating would greatly enhance hygiene, and several of the door locks and handles need attention. A fresh coat of paint would also help give the facilities a cleaner, more inviting appearance. We also booked a Standard Cabin, and unfortunately this part of our stay was disappointing. The cabin was not clean and the air-conditioner was extremely loud, resulting in very little sleep for my wife and the kids. Considering the condition of the cabin, we felt the price was far too high for the standard provided. We hope this feedback is helpful, as we would love to see these issues addressed for future guests.
