We had extremely low expectations after reading the reviews but our unpowered campsite was fine with lots of birds and roos. The toilets were clean and the shower hot. What more could you want a long way from anywhere. The beer and bowl of chips at the roadhouse was a bonus.

We were on our way back from the Cape and stopped for the night. Clean and tidy room with hot hot water shower and a bar to get a feed and refreshments for turning in for the night. Diesel was $2.99per litre tho.

Heard a few ghost stories about this place. Can confirm room 4 was clean and comfy with best tv, shower, fridge and aircon, what more you need? Everyone very friendly, they must be hard pressed getting supplies out here and yet you still get fresh food that tastes good + coffee!!! The ladies helping out in the shop are super friendly and efficient - thank you!

Stayed here for 1 night as a a rest from driving. It's not the most luxurious stay but as a rest stop it does ok. When we were there: Fuel was $3.80per L Check in was easy and the staff very friendly. We had no issue with the powered site and power dropping out. Powered sites are flat and located close to the amenities. The amenities are small but adequate and very clean. Unpowered sites are available with only a few being flat. Road noise was not an issue Generators run all night. There are plenty of workers rooms and onside stays. The restaurant food was yummy and a drinks bar is available. We enjoyed our night here and would happily stay here again.

We have just travelled from the Sunshine Coast heading to Charters Towers. Diesel prices so far have ranged from the $2.50s to the $2.70s. This place? $3.80 per litre!!! 2 May 2026. Nobody was buying fuel. Clearly, they do not want to sell diesel. I have no idea why.
