Baw Baw National Park covers 13,530 hectares at the southern boundary of the Australian Alps, approximately 120km east of Melbourne with elevations ranging from 1000 to 1572 meters on the Baw Baw Plateau. The park offers year-round recreational opportunities including cross-country and downhill skiing, bushwalking, rafting, canoeing, fishing, scenic drives, and picnics amid abundant native wildlife and seasonal wildflower displays. Added to the Australian National Heritage List in 2008 as part of the 11-area Australian Alps National Parks and Reserves, it provides world-class alpine experiences.
