Ball Bay Camping Reserve is a beachfront reserve operated by Mackay Regional Council, accessed via Mount Ossa-Seaforth Road from the Bruce Highway towards Cape Hillsborough National Park. The reserve offers cold beach showers, push-button BBQs (electricity for cooking only), toilets and drinking water, with daily sites at $17 per day (up to 6 persons per site). Stays up to 6 weeks are permitted, with no animals allowed and generators allowed only 8am-11am and 2pm-5pm at maximum 65dB. In summer months, Flatback turtles occasionally hatch on the beach.
